Silverlight might surpass HTML5

SilverlightMicrosoft’s Silverlight is said to have features and capabilities which can surpass those provided by the HTML5 standard (which is yet to be fully completed). As applications like Silverlight and Flash provided users with Internet applications which enriched their experience, there had considerable speculations and debate over whether the completion of the HTML5 specification would end up with the doing away of such applications, as the need for them might not be felt then.

Microsoft signs deal with ARM

ARM-MicrosoftMicrosoft has agreed to license ARM Chips, as it recently signed a licensing deal with ARM Holdings, the company responsible for producing ARM technology.
This recent step taken by Microsoft is said to have been motivated by a deep interest in entering the smart-phones industry. The deal signed can enhance Microsoft’s base and research, as it now can design ARM-based chips by itself, and it is free to use the ARM technology, or particularly speaking, ARM Micro-architecture.
